Our ASME chapter goes to the Student Design Competition at the ASME E-Fest every spring. E-Fest is a regional conference hosted by ASME at a university of their choosing.

The student design competition (SDC) provides an excellent opportunity for students of all skill levels and provides a great chance to gain experience working on a team. It is a two-semester project that will allow students to gain experience in designing, prototyping, manufacturing, and testing a solution to a national challenge created by ASME
"The ASME Student Design Competition provides a platform for ASME Student Members to present their solutions to a range of design problems - from everyday household tasks to groundbreaking space exploration. Each team is required to design, construct and operate a prototype meeting the requirements of an annually determined problem statement."
